About the challenge
Dive in. Run it off.
Engine Room is a coastal fitness race in Newquay, combining a 400m sea swim, 4km run and a final machine sprint on either the Ski Erg or Row.
It is a short, intense, spectator-friendly race with a big finish at the Killacourt.
The Swim
400m of battling tides
Battle the tide twice by swimming out, in, out, in. Making one giant 400m “M”.
The Run
4km across NQY
Run across the beach before heading into the town and tackling the tram tracks straight to the killacourt.
The Finisher
500m ski

A final grilling push before a sprint to the finish line.

Race Start: 10-11am: Exact start times confirmed closer to race day. -
Arrive & Register: 40 mins before your start time: Head to Killacourt to sign in and collect your race number -
Transition Zone drop-off: 20 mins before start: Leave your running shoes and clothing in the designated area.

About the challenge
Before you enter

All participants must be confident open-water swimmers. -
You must be able to safely complete a 400m sea swim and a 4km run. -
Arrive at least 40 minutes before your start time to register. -
Deposit shoes into the transition zone at least 20 minutes before your start. -
This event involves open water swimming, please enter responsibly.
